Three Aspects of the Flotation Bubbles Need Observation

1, the size of the bubbles often changes with the nature of the ores, the pharmaceutical system and flotation area in the flotation machine. In the flotation of the sulphide, generally, the bubbles whose diameter is more than 8-10cm can be seen as the big bubble; the ones with 3-5cm diameter can be deemed as middle sized bubbles and the bubbles whose diameter is less than 3cm are the small bubble. The size of the bubbles is related with the degree of mineralization. When the bubbles are mineralized, bubbles are medium. Therefore, the bubbles in the roughing and selection are mostly the middle sized bubbles. If the bubble mineralization is excessive, it will impede the merger of the mineralized bubbles, often forming the irregular vesicles. When the bubble mineralization is poor, though the vesicles constantly become large, they cannot withstand the vibration and they are easily broken.
2, the luster of the bubbles is determined by the luster of the mineral and the water film. Sulphide minerals often has metallic luster, if the metallic luster is strong, the foam mineralization will be better; if the metallic luster is weak, the ore that the foams contain is less.
3, the color of the foam is determined by the color of the materials that adhere to the foam surface. For example, when conducting the flotation of chalcopyrite, the concentrate foam is yellowish green; when flotating the pyrite, the foam appears the grass yellow. In the selection, if the planktonic mineral foam is more clear, the higher the concentrate grade will be. While in the scavenging of the planktonic mineral, if the color of the minerals is obvious, the loss of the targeted minerals in the flotation is large.
