The Manufactured Sand is Welcomed


     With the rapid development of infrastructure construction and increasing attention being paid to environmental protection, there is a lack of the natural sand used to meet the requirements of engineering construction, so the use of manufactured sand (MS) to prepare concrete has become a trend.  MS production process can be divided into the following phases: Block stone →Coarse crushing →Intermediate crushing →Fine crushing →Screening →Powder removal →MS. The equipment commonly used in the coarse crushing is the jaw crasher. The equipment commonly used in intermediate crushing is the overpressure turbine crusher and impact crasher is used in fine crushing. With regards to the control process of powder content, we often use the dry process method with this process the grading machine is used, whilst wheel sand washer is recommended if wet process is adopted .Analysis was made on the main factors which affect the production quality of MS. We proposed the key points of MS quality control: Strictly control the mix of mud soil. For the factory which has bad mine rock with high soil, we can adjust the size of screen bar of vibrating feeder to control the MS MB value; Select the right dimension of vibrating screen, and the appropriate size is between 3.5 to 4mm; For the MS which is produced with dry process method, we can adopt the water-spraying measure and make the water content of MS between 2 to 5%to prevent the MS segregation phenomenon. Besides, the appropriate way of stacking, charging and transportation can subdue MS segregation phenomenon. Secondly, according to the research results and national regulation standard, we proposed the MS technical standard which is fit for Ji-cha highway.   
     By means of planning MS factory points, the implementation of approving system and establishment of grade four-quality management, the MS quality of Ji-cha highway is now in good condition. Finally, we did some research on MS concrete for C50 T-beam. By means of adjusting water-binder ratio, sand ratio and mineral admixture etc, we get the proper mix proportion of C50 MS concrete for T-beam. From the construction and remaining concrete sample, the concrete now meets construction requirement. From the T-beam static load test, MS T-beam did not find cracks and other anomalies. The force met the design requirements. When the loading was applied, T-beam is now in a range of elastic working. Combining with engineering practice, the mix proportion design method of MS concrete and construction controlling measures are proposed.
