Chip Kelly Spurns NFL For At Least Another Year With Ducks

University of Oregon Head Football Coach Chip Kelly will remain in Eugene for the 2013 season. Monday afternoon, UO Athletic Director Rob Mullens announced Kelly’s decision.

“We’re ecstatic that Brandon Spikes Limited Jersey Coach Kelly has Brandon Spikes Elite Jersey decided to remain at the University of Oregon. Obviously we’ve had unprecedented success over the last four years and that’s attributed to his innovative style. He’s a great leader and we’re thrilled he’s going to remain in Eugene.”

Mullens said Kelly called him Sunday night to say he would not leave to coach the NFL. Over the past few weeks, Kelly had reportedly interviewed with three teams: the Cleveland Browns, the Philadelphia Eagles Brandon Spikes Patriots Jersey and the Buffalo Bills.

Mullens would not elaborate on why Kelly decided to stay with the Ducks, but called the coach a “true professional.”

“He did exactly what he said he would do. He would talk, he would gather all the information, and then he would reflect and he would make a decision. That’s exactly what he did. I appreciate the way he handled it. He kept me in the loop the entire time. I was pleased to get the Chandler Jones Jersey call.”

Over Kelly’s four years as head football coach at Oregon, he has amassed a 46-7 record, one of the best in college football. Mullens said with that kind of success, he was not surprised the NFL came knocking.basic6ming20130109
